Introduction

Investing can be referred to as making your money work for you. Instead of just allowing money to stagnate in a mattress, investors utilize their money to maximize their wealth; this is of course met with variable degrees of success. The Complete Investment and Finance Dictionary defines investing as

"The converting of assets, usually money, into a security or enterprise with the object of preserving that amount or capital, as well as earning a reasonable return or percentage. The investor's mindset is that both will materialize in the future." (Benham 353).

Investing is an essential component of economics. It provides cash flow for  developement and expansion for different businesses. It is, however, a tricky  business. Making good investment decisions that will bring in profits is difficult.  Markets fluctuate, values change, whole multi-national corporations can rise or  fall in a very short time. Investing is a very volatile world. With so many choices,  and such competition on the markets, it is very difficult to decide where to invest  your money.

The wise investor knows to research their perspective opportunities before investing. It is important to look at a number of criterions. First of all, will I make money? Can I take my money whenever I want? What are the risks of losing my money? How much do I need to start? Should I invest in more than one thing? All of these questions allow an investor to better decide what investments are the most worth while. The most important question today, of course, is what the current trends are for specific investments. What do the markets look like?  With all of this in mind it is a very simple matter to look at the basic investment opportunities available. This report will study but a few possibilities in regards to the previous questions.
